This Day in History: April 1, 2000
Around 5:30PM April 1, 2000, Brandon Brown left baseball practice and was never seen again. The seventeen year old was observed by his coach leaving the high school baseball field on his bicycle.
The photo on the left was taken a few weeks before his disappearance.
According to Kevin Peterson, a life-long friend, "he was a great baseball player and good student." He was being actively recruited by colleges for his pitching skills. His teachers and parents were shocked by the news.
Leads
According to the sheriff's report, Brandon was active in scouting and unlikely to get lost in the woods. "Brandon was a spelunker and enjoyed exploring the caves. But he never went caving alone," stated his scout master Mr. Hamilton.
Searches of the area provided few leads. However upon further investigation, it was found that he had recently withdrawn a sustantial amount of money from his savings account. In addition, there were roamers he was dating the daughter of a migrant worker. However they were unable to locate the family or the girl for questioning.
Spottings
Over the past decade, dozens of people have claimed to have seen Brandon. However the leads have all been dead ends.
