“Since you two found the body, we wanted you to be the first to know what we’ve found. The body was identified as a man by the name is Herbert Conway. He disappeared in the spring of 1934 around the time of the Hill County Bank robbery.

Until the 1960s, the hiking trail was actually a county road and a side road ran along the ridge. We found bullets at the scene, so we think Conway was wounded and died in the cave. Conway was known to hang out with bank robber Vivian Chase, so we’re guessing she got away with the money. We may never know for sure.

You’ve helped solve the biggest mystery in Hill county history.”
